Privacy Policy for Shadow Weaver

Last updated: 22 July, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PsychoReaper ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile game Shadow Weaver (the "App"). Shadow Weaver does not require creating an account to play. It does require choosing a display name the first time you open it — this is used only for the public leaderboard, described below, and is not a real-identity account. Separately, the App offers a fully optional way to back up your progress by linking a Google account. Neither the display name nor the optional account backup can ever see your device's underlying game data beyond what's described in this policy, and both can be deleted at any time — see "Your Rights" below for how.

Information We Collect

Local, on-device data (always)

Shadow Weaver stores your game progress (levels completed, in-game currency, upgrade choices, and settings) locally on your device, using standard device storage. Uninstalling the App removes this data. Your chosen display name and the stats tied to it (see "Leaderboard data" below) are also saved locally first and sync to our backend automatically once the device is online — see that section for exactly what that involves. If you additionally link a Google account (see "Account backup data" below), a full copy of your local progress is backed up to our cloud storage as well.

Leaderboard data (a display name is required; the leaderboard itself is public)

The first time you open the App, you'll be asked to choose a display name. This step is required and has no "skip" option — every player picks a name before reaching the main menu, whether or not the device has an internet connection at that moment. We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information — only the display name you choose to type in, which can be anything you like, and which you can change at any time afterward from your in-app profile.

Your chosen name is saved locally on your device immediately, regardless of connectivity. If the device is online at that moment, the App also registers that name — together with your Glimmer Dust total, levels completed, and your chosen avatar, profile border, and bio (if you've set one) — on our backend (Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore), so it can appear on the public leaderboard. If the device is offline, this registration is simply queued and happens automatically and silently the next time the App detects a connection — for example, when you open the leaderboard, open your profile, or otherwise reach a point in the App that checks for internet access. The same applies to any later change to your name, avatar, border, bio, or score: saved locally right away, pushed to the leaderboard automatically once the device is online.

The leaderboard is public: any player using the leaderboard feature can see the display names, scores, levels completed, and chosen avatar/border/bio of other participating players. Please don't use your real name or any identifying information as your display name or bio if you'd prefer it not to be publicly visible.

You can permanently delete your leaderboard entry at any time from Settings inside the App — this is part of "Delete Progress" (if you haven't linked a Google account) or "Delete Account" (if you have), both described further below. Deleting it removes your name, score, and profile details from our backend; the only thing that otherwise removes a leaderboard entry is you deleting it yourself.

Account backup data (optional, only if you choose to link)

Separately from the required display name above, the App offers an optional way to back up your local game progress by linking a Google account. Every player already has a leaderboard-eligible name by default (see above); linking a Google account is a separate, optional step that adds a cloud backup of your progress on top of that — it does not change whether you appear on the leaderboard. Linking is never required to play the App.

If you choose to link a Google account, we use Google Sign-In to identify you, and we store a copy of your local game progress (levels completed, in-game currency, upgrade choices, and settings) in our backend (Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore), associated with your Google account ID. This lets you restore your progress if you reinstall the App or switch devices. We do not access your Google contacts, email content, files, or anything else in your Google account beyond the basic account identifier needed to link your save data to you.

You can unlink or delete this backup at any time from Settings inside the App, whether or not you've ever synced progress from it — deleting it removes your cloud-stored progress from our backend. This is independent of your local, on-device progress and of your leaderboard entry; deleting your account backup does not by itself delete your leaderboard entry. Deleting your account entirely (the "Delete Account" option, available once linked) does delete both your cloud backup and your leaderboard entry together, in one step — see the section above.

Third-Party Services

The App is distributed through the Google Play Store. Google may collect certain information (such as device identifiers and install data) as part of operating the Play Store and related services, independently of the App itself. This collection is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy, not by us.

Both the leaderboard and the optional account backup are powered by Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore for stored data, and Google Sign-In for the optional account link), which stores the data described above on our behalf. Firebase's handling of this data is governed by Google's Firebase privacy and security terms in addition to this policy. Data sent to Firebase is encrypted in transit.

The App does not integrate third-party advertising SDKs or analytics services. If this changes in a future update, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before that update is released, and the Data Safety section of our Play Store listing will be updated to match.

Children's Privacy

Shadow Weaver is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The display name required to use the App, and the score/progress data tied to it on the leaderboard, are self-chosen and gameplay-derived — not a real name or other identifying information — but the App is still not intended for use by children under 13. The optional account backup feature additionally requires a Google account, which Google's own terms restrict for children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has used the App, linked an account, or otherwise provided us with personal information (for example, through a support email), we will take steps to delete it.

Your Rights (California — CCPA/CPRA, and CalOPPA)

Most of the App's data — everything except your leaderboard name/stats and, if you choose to link one, your account backup — never leaves your device, so there is generally nothing to request access to, correct, or delete under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) for that data. You can delete your leaderboard entry and/or your account backup at any time from Settings inside the App, or contact us using the details below to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that data.

Your Rights (EEA/UK — GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom: game progress and settings generated by simply playing stay on your device and are not processed by us, so most GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) do not apply to that information. Your display name and the score/progress data tied to it on the leaderboard is personal data processed by us via Firebase. If you have linked the optional account backup, your Google account ID and backed-up progress are also personal data processed by us via Firebase. You can delete your leaderboard entry and/or your account backup at any time from Settings inside the App, or contact us to request access, correction, erasure, or portability of that data.

Data Retention

Locally stored game data persists only on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data through your device settings. Your display name and the stats tied to it are retained on our Firebase backend until you delete your leaderboard entry (via the App's Settings — "Delete Progress" or "Delete Account" — or by contacting us, see above) or until the leaderboard feature is discontinued. If you link the optional account backup, your backed-up progress is retained on our Firebase backend until you unlink/delete it from Settings inside the App or until the feature is discontinued.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's data practices change (for example, if we add analytics, ads, or further online features in a future update). The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision, and material changes will be reflected here before the corresponding App update is released.
